More sleaze from director Andreas Bethmann (also the founder of the X-Rated Kult DVD label). I haven't seen them but I imagine they run along the same lines as his earlier ANGEL OF DEATH 2, K3-PRISON OF HELL and ROSSA VENEZIA ie: chock full of hardcore sex and nasty violence towards women.

This is the rare XXX version of SATAN'S BABY DOLL which was released by X-Rated Kult DVD in Germany. This is the only release (that I know of) of the proper XXX version - the Shameless DVD contains some of the inserts but none of them go as far as they do here. It can be purchased here

Niggas' Revenge (2001)

This is an extremely rough Gay porn film geared towards those with an interest in BDSM. The flimsy storyline concerns three racist skinheads who are taken hostage by three huge black guys and subjected to all kinds of perverted sexual abuse as punishment for their hate crimes. Obviously not a film for all tastes, fans of rough Gay porn will find much to savour here as the captors pile on the abuse; men caged up like dogs, bareback fucking, gagging, whippings, beatings, fisting, incest, eye watering genital piercings and lots and lots of piss. Apparently actor Bobby Blake got so carried away that two cast members suffered concussion! 

Day of Hell

Was very bored on sunday and had nothing to do so I decided to liven up my day with a marathon of Italian trash movies. First up: Bruno Mattei's DOUBLE TARGET (1987), in which Miles O'Keeffe travels to Vietnam in an effort to gain custody of his son and ends up taking on a mission to take down ruthless Russian terrorist Col Galckin, played by Bo Svensson. Donald Pleasence appears in one of those 'spend the whole movie behind a desk' roles for which he so good at. As with Mattei's other Philippine shot trash fests, the main focus is on action and doesn't let up for one second. Stefano Mainetti (ZOMBI 3) contributes a cool synth score which helps the action along nicely. Not as good as STRIKE COMMANDO, but what film is?

Next up is Nello Rossati's ALIEN TERMINATOR - aka TOP LINE - (1987). Shot back to back with DJANGO STRIKES AGAIN, this one stars Franco Nero as a booze addled writer who discovers a very large pirate ship / alien vessel buried deep in a mountain in South America. Unfortunately for Franco, his discovery has cost him his life. An interesting, well shot film with a decent story which is let down by the scriptwriters seeming inability to come up with a satisfying conclusion. The success of Joe Dante's PIRANHA prompted Antonio Margheriti to head on a plane to Brazil and direct his own Piranha movie, KILLER FISH (AGGUATO SUL FONDO) (1979). This one features a dream B Movie cast: Lee Majors, Karen Black, James Francisious, Marisa Berenson, Margeaux Hemingway and Spaghetti Western stalwart Anthony Steffen. The story concerns a gang of diamond thieves (Majors, Black, Francisious)  who hide the diamonds in a big lake not far from a holiday resort. They agree to split and meet up again in 90 days to retrieve the diamonds. Unfortunately for them, Francisious has secretly filled the lake with Piranhas and woe betide anyone who thinks of sneaking off with the loot before the 90 days are up. Far from Margheriti's best work KILLER FISH is nonetheless an entertaining movie with some decent performances and a funky score by the De Angelis brothers. 

Not one to miss out on the latest trends Joe D'Amato rushed ATOR THE FIGHTING EAGLE (1982) into production after John Milius's CONAN THE BARBARIAN  proved to be a massive hit at the box office. Joe's cut price barbarian epic features Miles O'Keeffe (who's dubbed) as the title character who was sent into hiding as a child to keep him from the evil clutches of Dakar (played by, er, Dakar from ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS). Ator grows up and falls in love with his adopted sister who is kidnapped by Dakar's men before they can marry. Ator vows to get her back and rid the land of the evil Dakar. Considering D'Amato's reputation ATOR is very restrained in terms of violence and there is nary a breast in sight, which is really surprising when you consider sexploitation icon Laura Gemser and Sabrina Siani (CANNIBALS) are in the cast. No masterpiece but better than you'd think. ATOR proved to be a success for jolly Joe, who followed it up in 1983 with ATOR THE INVINCIBLE which sees Ator (O'Keeffe again) attempt to save his master (D'Amato regular Charles Borromel) who has been kidnapped by the Evil Zor (David Brandon in fine scenery chewing form). With a seemingly bigger budget ATOR 2 is a lot of fun and an improvement over the original. 

Tonino Ricci is not one of the most celebrated Italian directors, his films are often described as amateurish and inept and sadly DAY'S OF HELL (1986) is no exception. Set in Afghanistan (though clearly shot in Rome) we follow a ragtag group of mercenaries who are on a mission to rescue a Scientist and his daughter. It's all very dull and predictable, with a disappointing score by the usually reliable Francesco Di Massi.

Hell's Gate (Umberto Lenzi, 1991)

A team of archeologists venture into some deep caves to look for their friend who has disappeared while trying to break the world isolation record. Once inside they stumble across an old crypt with a strange Latin inscription on the wall. It tell's them that in 1291 seven monk's were executed for 'heresy' and that they will return exactly 700  years later and kill seven 'heretic's'. Unfortunately for the group it's exactly 700 years later!




Hells Gate is another Italian made for tv horror and is just as dull and boring as the others. The script is weak, the cast are dull (even the lovely Barbara Cupisti from Stagefight and Giacomo Rossi Stuart are poor) the music is cheap and the special effects are merely adequate (one of the murders is clearly modeled on the axe murder from Friday the 13th) but the worst thing of all is that Lenzi uses the exact same ending as the one in Nightmare City!! 


Absolute Garbage.


DVD:
The only Englsih friendly dvd so far is the Dutch release from EC Entertainment (that has a picture of a semi naked woman being menaced on the cover). But its not a good one im afraid; It comes with a crappy video transfer in Italian with optional english sub's. The only extra is a Lenzi bio and filmography.

Waterpower (Shaun Costello, 1976)

Burt (Jamie Gillis) is a creepy loner who spends his time reading porn, visitng sex show's and spying on the girl who lives in the appartment across the road. One night he visits a seedy sex club where you can pay to act out the fantasy of your choice. After becoming curious about a colonic, the manager allows him to visit the room of another customer to see first hand what it is. A colonic of course is an enema. Burt is so turned on by this that he sees it as his purpose in life to administer enemas to women he feels are dirty and sinful. So off he goes into the night, breaking into the homes of unsuspecting women - who he rapes before pulling out his enema pump and giving them a good clean. The police are soon on the hunt for who the papers call the 'enema bandit' and send one of their own undercover to find him with almost fatal consequences.

Allegedly based on a true story, Water Power is twisted 70's porn at its finest; sleazy, digusting, moderately well acted and women with natural breasts. Gillis seems to be having fun as the Enema Bandit and his clean up operations are not for the faint hearted, with most disgusting sequence being when Gillis ties up two sisters who are making out with each other, shoves his pump up their arses and pisses on them while shitty water ejects from their backsides.
